Epic Journey is the quarterback. Preston is the through-line. Around every client we coordinate a contracted team of licensed clinicians and holistic practitioners — chosen for what that specific person actually needs.
We are not a licensed treatment facility. We are a private behavioral health coaching, intervention, and advocacy practice. The clinical care is delivered by a vetted network of contracted professionals — functional medicine, ketamine-assisted therapy, neurological brain mapping, licensed therapists and psychiatrists, holistic and spiritual practitioners — and we coordinate the whole picture.
Quarterback · Coach · Advocate
Before we recommend a single specialist, Preston spends real time understanding who you are, what you’ve been through, what’s been tried, what hasn’t worked, and what you actually want.
The pre-assessment is the foundation. It covers your history, family system, medical and psychiatric background, substance use, current life structure, professional realities, and the spiritual or existential side of what you’re navigating. From that conversation we design the team. No two clients get the same team because no two clients are the same person. The pre-assessment is where the custom protocol begins.
Every specialist below is a contracted partner Epic Journey coordinates with based on each client’s specific clinical, biological, emotional, and spiritual needs. Preston introduces them, sits in on early sessions when useful, and integrates their work into the overall protocol.
Licensed mental-health clinicians (LMFTs, LCSWs, PsyDs, PhDs) for trauma processing, diagnostic work, and the clinical material that requires a credentialed clinician.
Quantitative EEG (qEEG) brain mapping in partnership with Peak Brain Institute (Costa Mesa, CA). We see inside the brain — how it’s actually functioning — before we recommend protocols.
Root-cause biological work that conventional medicine often misses. We understand how hormones, gut health, inflammation, blood sugar, methylation, and neurotransmitter chemistry drive cravings, mood, and recovery outcomes.
Licensed MDs for medication evaluation, management, and coordination — when medication is part of the picture or when an existing regimen needs review.
Licensed MD providers offering ketamine-assisted therapy for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, suicidal ideation, and trauma. The only psychedelic-class medicine that is fully legal and FDA-approved in the U.S. for these indications.
Licensed psychologists who specialize in family system work — for parents, spouses, siblings, and adult children navigating a loved one’s active addiction or recovery.
For the parts of recovery that aren’t purely cognitive. The nervous system, the energy body, the somatic patterning — what gets held in the body and how to release it.
Recovery is, ultimately, a search for meaning. For clients open to it, we bring in spiritual guides and channels drawing from established wisdom traditions — Buddhist, Hindu, contemplative Christian, indigenous — integrating what serves the person.
qEEG (quantitative electroencephalography) is a brain scan that maps the electrical activity happening across your brain in real time. Unlike a standard EEG, qEEG produces a detailed quantitative analysis that shows how different regions communicate, where there’s overactivity or underactivity, and how your brain’s patterns compare to age-matched normative data.
In recovery and mental-health work, the qEEG gives us objective biological information instead of relying entirely on self-report. It helps us see:
Epic Journey coordinates qEEG scans with Peak Brain Institute in Costa Mesa, California. We use the data to inform protocols across the rest of the network — therapy, functional medicine, psychiatry, and recovery work.
Recovery only holds when all three are addressed together.
Clarity, processing, behavior.
Biology, brain, breath.
Meaning, presence, purpose.
Real engagement timelines from the clients we’ve worked with. We build a custom team and walk with you for as long as the work requires — not a single day longer than it serves, not a single day shorter than it should.
Most clients run the initial protocol for 3 to 6 months — the time it takes to stabilize, build the team, do the foundational clinical work, and establish daily structure that holds.
Many of our clients stay engaged for two and a half years and beyond. Cadence tapers as life stabilizes, but the relationship remains — for accountability, crisis response, and the moments that still matter.
A handful of our clients have been with us seven years straight — through career transitions, marriages, kids, losses, sober milestones. The work matures from recovery to growth to legacy.
Every Epic Journey engagement starts with a free 15-minute consult with Preston. From there, the team gets built around what your situation actually needs.
